I'm grateful the project was completed before we downsized from 1,090 sf apt to 798 sf. There's no way in hell I would have had space to work on it, considering it's a massive 7 1/2' x 3'... hey, if I'm going to make something it's going to be the grandiose version of whatever it may be.

Fashion - The "I Wants" For 2010
We are all extremely broke from the festivities of the 2009 Holiday season so 2010 is looking like a thrift store kind of year. What better way to start than in HOUSTON TEXAS!

Our friend of the Thrift Store Posse will be updating us on any recent finds and places to go from this weekend's Houston Trip!
Looking for items that resemble:

Life- "Happy New You!"
...was the title of a blog I recently passed up. I'm tired of it, all this "New year, New you!" junk. I mean I'm all for self improvement, but i just don't think the year end should mark when you should start self improvement. I beleive if your truly serious about starting off on the right foot, you woulnd't need to tag along with the rest of the worlds ny resolutions.
Me, negative?! Noooo, I just have more hope for you than you probably have for yourself! In the words of a gazillion dollar slogan..."JUST DO IT!"
Happy New You!
Disclaimer: I myself made a resolution, am I considered a Hypocrit. Yup! but aren't we all!

Design: Re-Design? or just Design?
Gosh, I was so weary on writing an entry after RAB's heartfelt story...but, we gotta go back to being cynical at some point...so here we go:
"In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some
entertainment out of it." -Daniel Waters
After a long battle with trying to recreate my own version of a tufted headboard, I'm slowly realizing that maybe I'm not so cut out for this. Maybe just ordering a headboard online would be way more enjoyable, and would prevent me from staring at my wrists with a knife (not really). But seriously.
What have I gotten myself into.
Notice: that was not a question, it was a statement.
So, maybe a visit to not just an ordinary hardware store or art's and crafts store, but an ACTUAL Upholstery Supplies Store, will finally get me somewhere. Pictures to follow....maybe.

Life - The little things that can make a big difference
Sorry Blog, NIC and I have been neglecting you : /
Anyhow.
So I really wanted to write about something that occurred in my life that really helped me put things in perspective. I have been having a tough time balancing school and my three jobs. This past Monday, I was in a rotten mood because of stress from school and work and stress of working so much and not having dinero. I was scheduled to meet with a client after work and before school. I had been collaborating with him on a logo design and was making final arrangements to it.
At the end of our meeting he went to the back and pulled out an amazing cashmere winter coat and proceeded to tell me the story on it. The coat belonged to his partner who passed away and had been sitting in a closet since then. He said that I looked about the same size and wanted to give me this coat. I was taken a back and shocked at this super kind gift.
On the drive home, I just sat in silence thinking of this really nice gesture that had just occurred. Here I was, complaining about being overworked and stressed and along came someone with a kind heart to remind me of the biggest blessing I had, which is being alive.

Life - A Big Disposal
What do you do when your favorite sweater has a hole in it? If you patch it, it will be obvious. If you go out and buy a new one, it's just not the same...and protecting it by continuing to hold it hostage in your closet is just depressing.
I find it more and more difficult everyday to hold my fingers back from replying/commenting on fb with insensitive comments. Does this make me a bad person?
I don't think i'm an angel, but i do look up at my family with every choice/decision i make in my life. I hope i never try to find happiness at the expense of my family members feelings, and everyday i'm realizing what a fine line this is.
Maybe this is why I have a hole in my sweater...I'm committed, no matter what flaws or how unusable something is. This is my flaw...I find (fill in the blank with something/someone you love) indisposable...others don't.

Life-Remove the Clutter to Show Your Beauty
I cannot stand when people take pictures of themselves, and don't realize how distracting the objects in the background are.
First off, if your going to take photos of yourself, remove the unecessary clutter ie. ironing boards, irons, dirty/cluttered restroom counter, messy room etc. You get my point. (hopefully) It's embarassing and makes you look like a slob.
